The VN-Index rose by 0.91% to close at 1,186.36. Large-cap stocks performed well as twenty of the VN30 stocks gained. STB soared to the ceiling limit with very strong volume (nearly 100mn share traded). Other banks also increased, including LPB (+5.5%), VPB (+1%), TCB (+1.3%), BID (+0.7%), CTG (+1%) and notably SHB on the HNX (+9.8%). VIC outperformed its listed subsidiaries VHM (+0.1%) and VRE (-1.4%) as it rallied by 3.7% to close at a 16-month high.
