The VN-Index surged 1.3% on Monday — hitting a 10-month high — as investors continued to focus on buying financial stocks. GVR (+6.9%) recorded its seventh straight positive session and was the top contributor to the day’s gain. The banking sector remained hot as VPB (+4.3%), VCB (+0.8%), HDB (+5.3%), TPB (+6.8%), BID (+1.0%) and EIB (+7.0%) jumped. Securities brokerages carried over their strong performance on Friday with SSI (+6.9%), VCI (+6.9%), VND (+6.8%) and HCM (+5.3%) soaring.
