Despite several banking tickers falling into negative territory on Monday afternoon, the VN-Index was still able to close up seven tenths of a percent as securities brokerages made significant gains. VHM (+3.7%) climbed to an eight-week high and was the day’s top contributing gainer while its parent company VIC (+1.7%) advanced for the second straight session. Securities brokerages SSI (+5.8%), VCI (+6.7%) and HCM (+7.0%) soared. GAS (+2.9%) and PLX (+1.8%) both gained.
