The VN-Index kicked off November on a positive note as it jumped in afternoon trading to close up nine tenths of a percent following positive earnings results from several companies. However, trading turnover on HOSE slumped to USD230.6mn — well below the one-month average of USD361.4mn. Numerous bank tickers surged, including VCB (+3.4%), CTG (+4.8%), BID (+1.0%) and MBB (+1.1%). Airline VJC (+3.7%) posted its first gain in one week.
