Market wrap: Stocks sink after Trump announces tariff hike. Markets throughout Asia, including the VN-Index, sunk on Monday following US President Donald Trump’s announcement last Friday that he would increase tariffs on Chinese goods. The VN-Index was down as much as 1.5% in the early afternoon, but it climbed back to close the session down 1.0%. VCB (-1.8%) was the leading contributor to the day’s loss. Fellow bank TCB (-1.8%) also declined.
