The VN-Index rose for a fifth straight day on Thursday, closing up a tenth of a percent. The index’s two largest companies by market capitalization cancelled each other out as VIC (-1.1%) fell while its subsidiary VHM (+1.1%) advanced. BVH (+4.2%) jumped to a four-month high and is up 41% in less than two months. HDB (+4.0%) also soared while fellow financials VCB (+0.5%), BID (+0.7%) and TCB (+0.8%) posted modest gains.
