The VN-Index barely budged on Wednesday as the market continued to consolidate just below a nine-year high. Energy tickers, led by GAS (-1.5%) and PVD (-0.9%), sank after Brent crude oil prices extended a three-day skid in Asian trading today. Positive quarterly results and increasing selling prices helped steel sector names such as NKG (+2.9%) and HPG (+0.1%) outperform the broader index. SMC (+7.0%) has jumped 26% year to date and is up 300% since the beginning of last year.
